Homeschool Friends is a virtual home education support group based in the Jacksonville, Florida area.  It serves families in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns Counties.

HF is for parents who are currently home educating their school aged children.  It allows parents to share ideas, pass along information and encourage one another.

HF communicates via Yahoo! Groups. 

HF is not an open group.  Members share a lot of information about themselves and their families.  Security is always an issue with online communities, especially when members do not meet in person.  To join HF, one must be approved by the moderator.  A form will be automatically e-mailed to pending members who click "join this group" at the above Web site.

Homeschool Friends does not have regular meetings or events.  Members may plan to do things together but those are not official HF activities.  HF is a resource for parents who need contact with other homeschooling parents who will understand, offer guidance and, occasionally, vent to one another.  It's a friendly corner of the Internet for homeschoolers!

Looking for Homeschool Friends, the support group that meets in person?  HF was an active group from 2005 - 2008 but the founder could not continue running the group.  HF was merged with the virtual group, Homeschool Parents Online, to form one virtual support group for North Florida families.
